IT Infrastructure
Office Setup
We have all the necessary infrastructure in place to work remotely as part of a project team. For example:
Network file server with Raid 10 data protection.- Wired and wireless LAN.
- High speed broadband internet connection, currently 4Mb/s.
- Web server in Maidenhead, hosting multiple domains and providing web and mail services with remote virus and anti-spam protection. Attachment size on e-mails is virtually unlimited.
- Facilities for scanning documents and preparing output in bound and PDF formats.
- CAD viewing and mark-up using Oasys Columbus and Brava software.
We are continuously improving our IT facilities and take pride in keeping up-to-date.
Mobile Working
In addition to our office setup we are also equiped for mobile working:
- 3G phone and 3G data card for fast mobile data connections.
- Dell Axim X51v PDA
- Samsumg X60 Laptop
- Sony 7 Megapixel Digital Camera.
These in combination provide access to documents, e-mail and internet whilst travelling or working in client offices.
Project Extranets
On our web server we run the open source KnowledgeTree software which allows us to host project extranets.
However, on most of the projects we are involved with we use collaborative tools set up by our clients or the lead consultant. We have experience of using the following systems:
- AutoDESK Buzzsaw
- Business Collaborator
- iProNET
- Oasys Columbus
- Lotus Quickplace
We are also familiar with secure methods of data transmission such as SCP and SSH and use these with for data transfer to and from our web server.
Survey Equipment
For distance measurement we have a Leica Disto A3 and for investigation of moisture/dampness we have a Protimeter Aquant.
