Bigen Africa
January 2010. We now have an informal working arrangement with Bigan Africa whereby V-Consult Limited provide expertise on high rise structures and Bigen Africa provide an outsourcing capability for major projects managed from the UK.

Network File Server
February 2008. We now have a new 'Terabyte' file server with 4 x 500GB drives running the Ubuntu 8.04 'Hardy Heron' operating system (Linux). Business data is stored in a Raid 10 array and media is served from a Raid 5 arrray. The server (known as 'Titan') was built 'in-house' and is linked to our Gigabit LAN.
ETABS
February 2007. We have just purchased ETABS Non Linear Version 9, in part for compatibility with the software used by one of our Clients. The program is described as an 'Integrated Building Analysis and Design Environment'. The system is built around a physical object based graphical user interface and is basically a finite element analysis package aimed at building structures with the added benefit of post-processors for design of the beams columns, trusses, walls and floors. For finite element analysis and 3D frame analysis we also have the latest version of CSC's S-Frame Professional.
5 YEARS
January 2007. We have now been actively trading for over 5 years - a celebration is planned but not arranged yet!
Engineering Software
January 2007: New web based engineering software released for evaluation for Design of Bolted Tee Connections and Composite Beams.
KnowledgeTree Document Management System
November 2006: We're trialling the KnowledgeTree DMS on our server for web based collaboration. First impressions are that it is brilliant! The PHP/MySQL combination is familiar to us and the DMS has some great features (particularly indexing and searching within the body of documents) that make it very attractive to us. If you would like a trial or need a project hosted, please get in touch.
Web Server
September 2006: Just got a new web server from Netrino and we're in the process of transferring all our sites over. The server runs the Ensim 4.1 Control Panel on a Centos 4.3 Linux based operating system. Two mirrored 160GB HDD's so plently of space!
